The month of May is National Arthritis Awareness Month. Arthritis is something that is usually not surgically fixed by our staff, but prescription medications can help. According to the Arthritis Foundation website common symptoms include swelling, pain, stiffness and decreased range of motion. Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. It is associated with a breakdown of cartilage in joints and commonly occurs in the hips, knees, and spine.

The Arthritis foundation holds fundraisers for those that are struggling with Osteoarthritis and other types daily. For those that live in the St. Louis, Kansas City, or Carbondale areas, there are walks during the month of May for people who are willing to help. If you would like to learn more about this and how you can walk and sign up. Please check out their website below.
